It's a challenge for the Australian squad to break new ground.

The greatest achievements have long been mastered.

This is the squad that has won seven Cricket World Cups, in addition to another six T20 titles, and earlier maintained over three years undefeated in 50-over cricket.

The alternative records, the ones sought by the record chasers, are what's still available for a team that has won it all.

It needed until Sunday's three-wicket win over India for them to complete their first ODI chase above 300, taking back their record for the biggest in the female 50-over format, is, frankly, a compliment to the pitchers that have sported the yellow jersey over the last half-century.

It's difficult for their batters to hold a record if not afforded the possibility.

Finally, the outcome of Australia giving up 330 runs was skipper Alyssa Healy getting a platform to produce her latest masterpiece.

Initially recognized as the teenage relative of famous ex Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she debuted in 2010 after her country failed to win either of the T20 or ODI World Cups held the previous year and has seen it all through 15 successful years since.

A T20 World Cup win arrived three months after her bow and seven world titles have come from 10 tries across formats.

The determined wicketkeeper was in attendance in Derby in 2017 when a semi-final setback by India briefly halted the successful run.

That loss "motivated us to reevaluate our levels," Healy commented earlier.

At the next 50-over World Cup in New Zealand, Healy made 170 against England in the championship match and was named player of the tournament. She ensured her country would not come up short.

If this newest brilliant performance topped that previous effort can be debated.

Some will argue the argument supporting the pressure of a final. Some might respond with the difficulty that comes when pursuing an unprecedented total and a loud pro-India audience of 20,000.

What's clear is this century was considerably tougher to predict.

The Christchurch carnage in 2022 came as she topped the run-scoring charts, but this knock came after six matches in India over the past few weeks in which she had been unable to reach 30.

"If you've observed me in practice sessions, it's been a disappointing period because it appeared my form was missing whatsoever," said Healy.

"However when you step out on the field, your competitive instincts take over and you just lock into the contest."

Healy's competitive nature has consistently been her key asset - and an invaluable trait in succeeding famous previous leader Meg Lanning.

She was challenged by India's emerging talent Kranti Gaud in the previous month's ODI series, fallen to the emerging pace bowler in all three matches, but this time it merely gave Healy's motivation.

A single came off the opening delivery and from there the right-hander was underway.

"A chance to go out there and engage in competition with her and simply enjoy myself in that regard, kind of motivated me," commented Healy.

She got to fifty in 35 pitches - her fastest at the World Cup - and her hundred in 84 balls as she flogged anything short, hitting 21 fours and three maximums.

By the time she was out the team required another 66 at run per delivery - an achievable target now demanding an easy conclusion.

"To chase 330 is unfamiliar ground so I'm pleased we have the assurance to do that now," continued Healy.

"Ideally we won't need to repeat it but, should it happen, we are confident we can achieve it."

Those words will be the final thing rival teams at this World Cup want to hear.

During the last week a feeling they will win from any position has only strengthened - this victory coming after win against Pakistan by 107 run margin despite sitting at 76-7 at a certain moment.

Subsequently Australia meet Bangladesh before a meeting with longtime competitors England in Indore in ten days, by which point a semi-final place may likely be confirmed.

It was in the semi-finals they exited last year's T20 World Cup in an unexpected loss by South Africa - an encounter Healy was absent due to torn tissue in her foot as she led her country for the initial instance at a significant event.

So great is her will, she subsequently stated she regretted not playing with the discomfort.

However although she afterwards confessed those fitness problems have pushed back thoughts of retirement, this championship is expected to be her concluding event as leader in one-day cricket and she is hasn't yet secured an international tournament as skipper.

Victory in India would bring her to the top of her final mountain.
